Marin General Hospital Foundation Gala a Huge Success

  • June 14, 2011

Marin General Hospital Foundation's annual black-tie fundraising gala, A Night in Marin Gardens, raised more than $400,000 last Saturday night to directly benefit the Marin Cancer Institute at Marin General Hospital.

This magical evening marked the first gala the foundation has hosted in 10 years. The event, produced by Deborah Mann Productions, took place in a beautiful tent, decorated by Bloomster’s, at the lagoon in Corte Madera. It was overflowing with gorgeous floral bouquets, performers dressed as garden critters and a bar that featured a cascading waterfall.

Some 420 patrons indulged in an elaborate cocktail reception, a delectable seated-dinner prepared by Taste Catering, followed by a short, compelling video about the Marin Cancer Institute.

During the night, Marin General Hospital CEO Lee Domanico presented 10 outstanding doctors with awards for their work with cancer patients. Afterwards, guests kicked-up their heels to the Dick Bright Orchestra.

Special thanks to Shreve & Co. for adorning the gala co-chairs in jewelry and to designer Lily Samii for creating exquisite gowns for co-chairs Andrea Schultz and Cathie Bennett Warner.
