Larkspur Residents Rescue Neighbor From Fire
Man rushed to hospital with burns in fireplace accident.
Larkspur residents rushed to the aid of a neighbor Friday night. A man, described as "in his fifties," suffered burns while trying to start a fire in his fireplace. He was rushed to Marin General Hospital. Details on his condition are still pending.
Larkspur and Kentfield fire units responded to the scene on Old Quarry Road around 11 p.m. Capt. Don Stasiowski said the fire did not spread far and there was no significant damage to the apartment. Neighbors said they heard the resident moaning and wasted no time in helping to put out the fire, according to Stasiowski.
