North Bay House up for $100,000 Prize

Rohnert Park home owner's holiday decorations could win $100,000 for local school district.

It’s official: Rohnert Park is a Patch Deck the House Contest National Finalist!

Scott Weaver's house is decorated so well for the holidays that the Sonoma County city could win $100,000 for the Cotati-Rohnert Park public Unified School District.

SO, everyone, how about jumping in and helping a North Bay city bring home the $100,000 prize, because the finalist with the most votes wins! There are 24 Patch cities vying for the grand prize, and you can make Rohnert Park the winner with your vote.

Ask everyone — from co-workers to people you pass on the street — to vote for Weaver’s beautifully decorated Rohnert Park house at deckthehouse.patch.com. You may need to log in with your Facebook account to vote. No need to wait, as voting has already started and runs through Jan. 8.

Other nominated houses are in cities from Monrovia to San Mateo, Danvers MA to Davis CA, Pacifica to McLean, VA.

Weaver is well-known throughout the Bay Area for his massive "Rolling Through The Bay" toothpick sculpture of San Francisco. The 100,000 toothpick design took more than three decades to create.

As one of 24 finalists, he's already won a prize: his electric bill for December is being picked up by Patch. That's gotta help!

Great effort by Sylvia Barry for posting the Rombeiro Christmas House in Novato to the Deck the House contest. Maybe next year.

We visit both the Rombeiro and Weaver houses each year. The decorations at the Weaver house are more elaborate and themed, however the Rombeiros are more involved and host a more complete experience. It's a toss-up for us as to which is the best. I guess it depends on what you enjoy most.

Even if you don't live in Rohnert Park (and are jealous of the Scott Weaver house that's a Patch Deck the House finalists), let's stick together and vote for it every day! The prize is $100,000 for our kids, and you can help make it happen! http://deckthehouse.patch.com/entry/227521

I hear the owner of this house works at Lucky in Larkspur, so support our locals and stuff the ballot box.
