Ravasio Takes Gavel From Cock

Corte Madera Town Council elects a new mayor

It's time for a well-deserved winter vacation, so Alexandra Cock is heading to Mexico to escape the cold.

Cock handed over her mantel as Corte Madera mayor to Bob Ravasio before the end of Tuesday's Town Council meeting. Diane Furst was elected by the council to be vice-mayor.

"I'm so happy. It's been a great year as mayor, but I'm happy to turn it over to someone else," Cock said.

Cock and Ravasio won re-election bids in November, holding off a strong challenge from Melissa Gill.

Cock and Ravasio — along with the rest of the council — threw their support behind Measures A and C to provide funding for the Larkspur-Corte Madera School District and local paramedic services. Both measures passed, which Cock called a major success.
