Twin Cities Police Log: March 9-15

Bee Gees are at the source of a domestic disturbance in the Twin Cities.

• A resident in the 1000 block of South Eliseo Drive reported a loud disturbance between his neighbors, a husband and wife. The subjects were contacted and it was determined they were having a “debate” over whether or not Andy Gibb from the Bee Gees and St. Jude are the same person as one of them felt their photos looked the same. The matter was abated for the evening.

• Officers responded to Piper Park for a report of a dog attack. A Mill Valley man reported that while he was getting into his vehicle, the dog in the next vehicle leapt through the open window and attacked him, biting him on the arm. The dog was determined to belong to a Merced resident. A report for a dog bite was taken and a follow-up is pending with the Marin Humane Society.

• A Marin Municipal Water District employee reported that he had found possible stolen mail in the 30 block of Via La Cumbre. The mail for several area residences was collected and returned to proper residents. A check of the area for possible suspects and other mail met with negative results.

• Officers responded to a report of a group of loud subjects to the rear of the Bon Air Shopping Center. Several juveniles were located who advised they were just having a get together. They were advised of the complaint and sent on their way.

• Units responded to a report of an accident in the 200 block of Golden Hind Passage. A non-injury accident was located. The Corte Madera Fire Department also responded to assist one of the drivers who was unable to open the car door due to the damage to the vehicle.

• After contacting him at the northbound off-ramp for U.S. 101 at E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd., a San Rafael man was arrested for possession of narcotics paraphernalia and violation of probation. He was booked into the Marin County Jail.

• A resident in the 450 block of Via Casitas reported that someone had used her credit card during the past two days to charge $2,078 via the Internet. The charges were made to purchase airline tickets and hotel reservations. Investigation is pending.

• A resident in the 10 block of Meadowood Drive reported an abandoned vehicle parked in the area for several days. On checking the vehicle, it was determined that the vehicle had been reported as stolen to Twin Cities Police Department the previous week.

• TCPD officers assisted California Highway Patrol units with traffic control at a head-on collision that occurred on E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd., in the area of the west gate of San Quentin State Prison. Larkspur Fire also responded to the scene due to air bag deployment in the involved vehicles.

• After responding to a report of a stalled vehicle on the Tamalpais Drive overcrossing of U.S. 101, it was determined that the vehicle had false registration tabs. The driver was issued a citation and further investigation is pending.

• A resident in the 50 block of Mohawk Ave. reported that sometime during the night, his two unlocked vehicles had been entered. Taken were a Fast Trak transponder, a camera and other miscellaneous items. Total loss was undetermined.

• At the request of her bank, who was reporting that there had been some type of a theft, officers responded to check the welfare of a resident in the 2000 block of Redwood Hwy. It was determined that $850 cash had been taken from her home safe during the last week. A residential burglary report was taken.

• A resident in the 450 block of Rivera Circle reported that his dinghy was missing from the dock to the rear of his residence. The boat is a 10-foot grey inflatable “Tender” with a steel bottom and has a 15 horsepower outboard motor on it. Loss is $5,000. A stolen vessel report was taken.

• Graffiti was located on the walls at Henry C. Hall Middle School. Documentation was provided.

• A Larkspur resident reported that her son’s bicycle, a black Specialized Hard Rock 21 speed, was stolen from Henry C. Hall Middle School over the weekend. The bicycle was valued at $450. The lock was cut to steal the bicycle from the bicycle rack.

• Officers responded to a report of a suspicious subject crouching in the bushes near a Doctor’s office in the 10 block of Bon Air Road. Officers located a matching subject in the area of Sir Francis Drake Blvd. at Bon Air Road. TCPD Units arrested a homeless man on an outstanding Marin County Warrant. He was booked into the Marin County Jail.

• During this one week time period, TCPD had 294 calls for service. This included six calls related to property damage only accidents. There was one auto burglary and one residential burglary. There were no calls related to Driving while Intoxicated.
