Around Town Feb. 22-23: Chinese cooking tips at Book Passage; Mom's Health Forum.

 

 

• Nina Simonds brings her latest collection of Asian recipes to Book Passage in Corte Madera on Wednesday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m. Simonds, the author of 10 Asian-style cookbooks, presents more quick and satisfying with Simple Asian Meals: Irresistibly Satisfying and Healthy Dishes for the Busy Cook

• The second-seeded Marin Catholic boys (21-6) host No. 15 Healdsburg (13-14) in Wednesday's first round of the North Coast Section Division 4 basketball playoffs. Tipoff is at 8 p.m.

• The Marin Catholic girls ripped through the competition during the Marin County Athletic League schedule, and now the Wildcats (20-5) face real stiff competition in the North Coast Section Division 4 basketball playoffs. The fifth-seeded Wildcats host No. 12 Cardinal Newman (13-14) on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

• Check out the new additions to the Corte Madera farmers market on Wednesday, noon-5 p.m., at the Town Center. New vendors are selling local meats, cheeses and fish.

• Moms, learn how to stay healthier and how to prevent your children's colds and what strategies work to boost their immune systems. Dr. Michelle Perro M.D. and Dr. Myrto Ashe, M.D., M.P.H. lead this two-hour Modern Moms Health Forum on Thursday, Feb. 23, 10 a.m., at the second-floor community room in the Town Center. A $5 donation is suggested at the door. Babes in arms are okay.
