With all this talk about reusables and plastic bags i think I've come across a better way. To avoidRead More bags altogether I use a "box" instead! CRESBI crates are lightweight plastic crates that stack, collapse and eliminate the bacteria problem because they're dishwasher safe. Plus they also hold more than most bags! I save time too since I open the crates as I shop and turn barcodes up on my items as I place them in the crates. Then the checker scans my items in the crate and hands the crates back to me. Managers and baggers and checkers rave about them and love to see me in their lane.I use different colors for food - red for meat, green for veggies, etc. You can get them in a bag or a cooler or bigger crate to carry. Found them at CRESBI.com, Definitely cost more than a bag but there are moving parts!

Prop 37 would have exempted "organic" food from the labeling requirement. What sense doesRead More that make? (Answer: none.)

Does anyone have an update on Monsanto and GMOs? Last I read was they were suing a rancher who tookRead More feedstock and planted it, which got Monsanto hot and bothered because the use of seeds crossed over into the domain of 'Round-Up Ready' use of seeds.

It is estimated that we throw away 25%-50% of our food which then ends up in landfill creatingRead More methane gasses. An easier way to maintain a healthy diet would be buy what you need, eat what you have and compost the rest! Better yet - grow your some of your own food. Have extra room in your freezer? Use it :)
