Deichen Earns Degree From Colorado College

Area Residents Among 525 Recent Graduates of Colorado College

Colorado College awarded 525 undergraduate degrees and five master of arts in teaching degrees at its 130th commencement ceremony, held on May 21 outdoors on Armstrong Quad.

Jordan Deichen graduated with a bachelor's degree in English. Deichen is the daughter of Jim and Kathy Deichen of Kentfield.

Musician Abigail Washburn, a 1999 graduate of Colorado College, addressed the Class of 2012. In addition to Washburn, Colorado Lt. Gov. Joseph Garcia and legendary jazz guitarist Johnny Smith also received honorary degrees.

Colorado College is a nationally prominent, four-year liberal arts college that was founded in Colorado Springs in 1874. The college operates on the innovative Block Plan, in which its 2,000 undergraduate students study one course at a time in intensive 3½-week segments.
