• Writer Ben Fountain reads from Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk at Book Passage in Corte Madera on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Both poignant and funny, this new novel has been described as “the Catch-22 of the Iraq War.” Fountain follows Bravo Company, the eight survivors of a savage clash with Iraqi insurgents, on the last leg of a government-sponsored “Victory Tour.”
• The Larkspur Walkers welcome you to join them on walks that start and finish at Piper Park. The group walks approximately 3 miles within an hour, and routes include some hills and easements staircases as well as level ground. Meet at the east end of the parking lot, near the picnic area. Arrive 5 minutes early for easy warm-up exercises before the walk. If you would like to join the Larkspur Walkers, contact the Larkspur Recreation Department or come directly to Piper Park and ask for Nancy Spivey, leader of the group.
• It's storytime for parents and their little toddlers. The Larkspur Library is hosting its regular Baby Bounce on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. The Corte Madera Library welcomes Mother Goose on Tuesday at 10 a.m. Both events are perfect for children up to 24-30 months old.
