Corte Madera Cyclist Third In Nation

Share the good news in the Larkspur and Corte Madera communities, or give kudos to a local hero.

Congratulations to Sam Redman of Corte Madera, who placed third at the 2012 USA Cycling Mountain Bike Gravity National Championships last month.

Redman, 17, earned a podium finish in the Downhill Men’s Category 2 15-18, finishing in 3 minutes, 14 seconds, as reported in the Twin Cities Times. The event was held at Beech Mountain, N.C., on July 22.

Redman also competes for Redwood High School's mountain bike team.

When was the last time you took a moment to praise someone for a good deed, or yelled out to tell everyone how impressed you are with someone?

Come on and give a shout-out to the person or group in our community you feel deserves the praise. Maybe that’s someone at the grocery store who found your wallet and turned it in. Maybe it’s your own child, you received all A’s on her report card.

Tell us, tell the entire community, who did something special and should receive this praise.

Not feeling all that positive and you’d rather sound off on what’s bothering you? No worries, we have a forum for that as well, just go here and join in that conversation.

I think when local kids do well at something, you should always let us know who the parents are! This would make your stories more interesting, and let us know who it is that deserves a big chunk of the credit for that kid's success. :)

There are a lot of people in our community who deserve a lot of credit, so let's start nominating some local heroes! Who's on your list, folks? The school crossing guard? The class president? The kid with a lemonade stand?

Yeah Sam! And Barb & Jeff too!
