Hop Into Spring

Bunnies, egg hunts, juggling: Folks around the Twin Cities celebrate Spring and the holidays in colorful fashion.

Six feet tall, white fur, big pink ears? Sounds like Harvey ... or the Easter Bunny. He wasn't hard to find in the Twin Cities on Saturday as the Bunny Brigade made several stops to celebrate Spring.

Treasure hunters scoured Piper Park on Saturday morning and when they were done, proudly displayed the fruits of their labors: Colorful eggs filled with candy.

Children hurried through the grass to fill their baskets with plastic eggs, some grabbed nearly more than they could carry. Ten-month old Ella was happy with her handful.

The Easter Bunny gave out more eggs as he posed with the kids before they rushed into the Hall Middle School gym for entertainment from jugglers Mark and Dre.

The bunny also made special appearances at The Village near the Cheesecake Factory and in East Corte Madera.

The farmers market at Marin Country Mart offered music to get the folks hoppin' and all the eggs a person could want to dye. One woman was searching for naturally green eggs from the display for Fallon Hills Ranch.

The Easter Bunny soon made an appearance, joining the smaller rabbits that delighted the kids in the petting area.

The beginning of Spring was heralded by the kind of clear, warm skies that encourage plants to grow. The farmers market posted a display of heirloom seeds for flowers and vegetables, which will also be available during the week at the post office in Marin Country Mart. Sunnyside Organic Seedlings made its debut with starter tomatoes, herbs and greens. Sunnyside will join the farmers market every other Saturday.
