Kids Love Food Trucks Too!

Food Truck Crush at the Larkspur Ferry Terminal draws families with kids

I have been having fun eating at the at the Larkspur Ferry Terminal on Friday nights with friends. But this past Friday night I decided to see if kids like the food trucks too.

Yes, they do!  I met siblings Ethan, 9, Elsa, 8 and Lulu, 6 from Corte Madera. They had just finished their dinner and were happy to be interviewed. Ethan and Elsa loved their pizza from Pizza Politana. Ethan showed me the empty box with one bite remaining. Lulu had the ribs from The Rib WhipWhen I asked her why she wasn’t all messy from the ribs, she said, “My mom holds them for me.”

I asked Ethan if this was his first time eating at a food truck, “No, I was here last week!” (he had pizza then too).  Elsa told me what she liked about the food truck experience, “Awesome! and food!” then Ethan added, “That’s what I was going to say.” They also love playing tag and running around after they finish eating.

When I asked them to pose for a group picture, they happily gathered together as Ethan drew his sisters close. You could immediately see the love these siblings share.

They told me what they loved to do in their lives. Elsa announced loudly, “Eat!! and tetherball.”  Ethan chimed in, “Eat!! and computer games.” There was a definite “food theme” going on here.

They were enjoying a sunny spring Marin County evening at the food trucks with their parents and grandfather … and were very excited when I gave them each a Patch balloon and magnet. They were having so much fun blowing up the balloons, then eagerly and dramatically posed for another picture.

The is a wonderful community gathering. There is live music, bales of hay to sit on, tables to share, and lots of sun and people. Kids can be seen dancing to the music and ferry horns can be heard blowing in the distance.

These three siblings were filled with pizza, ribs, lots of energy, enthusiasm and having a lot of FUN. However, I have a sneaking suspicion these high spirited kids often do!

Until next Wednesday, remember, it is all “for the love of kids…”

In joy, Marilyn

I'm grateful for the help I've received at Marin Cancer Institute. Congrats to Dr. Gullion and,Read More really, to everyone who helps us fight cancer.

Prop 37 would have exempted "organic" food from the labeling requirement. What sense doesRead More that make? (Answer: none.)
