Larkspur, Corte Madera Getting Ready For Halloween

Pearls, Pumpkins and Bikes Mean Fun Around Town

Here are some of the highlights happening around the Larkspur and Corte Madera Twin Cities area Oct. 19-21:

You've probably seen his characters in the Sunday comics, but Stephan Pastis is bringing Croc, Zebra, Rat and the rest to Book Passage in Corte Madera Friday at 7 p.m. Pastis presents Pearls Freaks the #*%# Out: A Pearls Before Swine Treasury.

If you have an event or announcement coming up you'd like to share, please post it on Patch. It's free!

• Super Hero Style: Just in time for Halloween, Pottery Barn Kids at The Village invites super heroes in-training to create their own capes, because every super hero needs a cape, right? The fee is $10.

• Organic Pumpkin Patch: Organic heirloom pumpkins from Marin’s Fresh Run Farm in Bolinas, are now available at the Marin Country Mart! There are two pumpkin patch locations, one in front of Three Twins Ice Cream, and the second every Saturday at the farmers market. Buy traditional Howden Jack-o-lanterns for carving, or Cinderella Pumpkins, which are great for carving, but also delicious for eating. This is an honor system pumpkin patch (open all day, every day), there is a payment box at the patch, and prices are set as a flat rate by size, small ($5), medium ($10), large ($15).

• Family Bike Rodeo: Beginning cyclists might want to join the family bike rodeo on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Larkspur Recreation Center at Piper Park. The rodeo will cover riding off-street and is recommended for beginners to proficient bicyclists. Advanced registration is required. Click here to register.  For more information contact peggy@marinbike.org
