Roamin': This Week's Winner

Laura Richards goes bird watching to find this painted egret on the rocky shores of Corte Madera.

Laura Richards of Corte Madera knew exactly where to find this egret. "The beautiful rendition was hand painted by Vern, a member of our CM maintenance team. It is located on the CM Bay side Fire station entrance off Paradise Drive. Vern also works to maintain the meridians on our roads with beautiful shrubs and flowers," she wrote.

Congratulations Laura on being the first person to correctly identify the location of this week's pic, which was contributed by Linda Varonin.

Tune in Sunday for another chance to win. Be the first to correctly identify where we are and we'll feature you on Larkspur-Corte Madera Patch.

Favorite places to go or things to do in the Twin Cities area: I love taking walks in my neihborhood of Chapman Park, revisiting the places where my brothers and I played when we were children growing up in Corte Madera. I moved back to my childhood home after a 40-year absence of teaching and raising my family in Sonoma County. Life is busy renovating the house my father built and keeping up the garden. It is wonderful returning to this place filled with wonderful memories of growing up in the late '40s through early '60s.
