Santa's In Town!

Kids line up to meet Santa at the Village at Corte Madera

It was a chilly Sunday afternoon at , but that didn’t stop kids from showing up to sit on Santa’s lap, tell him what they wanted for Christmas and have their pictures taken.

Children from 4 months to 7 years old lined up at the entrance of Santa’s House.  They were visably excited to see Santa.  They were heard saying, “Santa’s in there!”  And many would stand by the entrance and wave at him.

Tyler, 7, and his sister, Bella, 3, from Tiburon were there to see Santa.  When I asked Bella what she asked Santa for, she said, “…a princess kitchen and Hello Kitty guitar.”  Tyler said, “…I want a Air twin vortex and air hog hyperactive…”

After Ariel, 4, from Marinwood, gave Santa a high five, he said, “I want a REAL dinosaur!”  Then he asked Santa, “Where are your reindeer?…I’ve got a Christmas tree…I’m going to make you a cookie…”

The littlest visitors were Finley, 4 ½ months, and Dylan, 6 months.  They both were very content to sit on Santa’s lap and gave big smiles for the camera.

Madelyn, 5, told Santa, “I want a clock that rings when it’s morning…”  She had already had her picture taken with Santa the day before and was there to watch her friend, Alexis. Alexis, 3, didn’t want to sit on Santa’s lap, so her mom sat next to Santa and she sat in a little red and white striped chair next to him.

Friends Aleena and Monroe, both 5, know each other from church.  They had their picture taken together with Santa.  Aleena asked Santa for “…makeup, a sleigh and elfs on a shelf…”  Monroe wanted, “…games and army men…”

Children had left letters to Santa.  One little boy’s list read, “…roller shoes, an iphone, new gutair, light strike gun, spy gear night goggles, ultra stomp rocket…”  A little girls letter said, “I will wonte to get a pair uv roller skates and a heart…”

These little ones knew exactly what they wanted for Christmas and were very excited to tell Santa.  There were smiles galore as children gave Santa a high five then hopped up on his lap.  Some were seen touching Santa’s beard and moustache to see if they were real, while others enjoyed snuggling up to Santa.

It’s the beginning of another wonderful holiday season filled with joy, fun and the wonder in children’s eyes.

Until next Wednesday, remember, it’s all “for the love of kids…”

In joy, Marilyn
