Secrets For A Healthier You

Around Town June 21-22: Learn how a healthier and more colorful plate can be a tasty treat with tonight's Food as Medicine seminar.

A good place to start building a healthier diet (before heading to the grocery aisle) is the Center for Integrated Health & Wellness, where certified nutritionist Sharon Meyer presents "Food as Medicine" at the Marin Cancer Institute on Thursday, June 21 at 5:30 p.m.

During Thursday's demonstration, learn why a colorful plate is also a healthy plate. Think of your plate as a canvas, with red and yellow (peppers), green (spinach) and other colors.

• Alex Beritzhoff begins a three-month long educational series to put local residents back in touch with their writing soul. The first in the series, The Handwritten Note, will take place on June 21 at 7 p.m. at her store, Folio Fine Stationery and Gifts located at 1118 Magnolia Avenue in Larkspur.

The Trivia Cafe is open for business and laughs at the Corte Madera Library Thursday at 7 p.m. Families are invited to join Howard Rachelson, Marin’s “Master of Trivia,” for 90 minutes of family fun in a team trivia competition. Bring your own team of up to eight players, or join a team at the event.
