A good place to start building a healthier diet (before heading to the grocery aisle) is the Center for Integrated Health & Wellness, where certified nutritionist Sharon Meyer presents "Food as Medicine" at the Marin Cancer Institute on Thursday, June 21 at 5:30 p.m.
During Thursday's demonstration, learn why a colorful plate is also a healthy plate. Think of your plate as a canvas, with red and yellow (peppers), green (spinach) and other colors.
Here are some other fun things to do this week. If you go to any of these events, let us know how it was:
• Alex Beritzhoff begins a three-month long educational series to put local residents back in touch with their writing soul. The first in the series, The Handwritten Note, will take place on June 21 at 7 p.m. at her store, Folio Fine Stationery and Gifts located at 1118 Magnolia Avenue in Larkspur.
• The Trivia Cafe is open for business and laughs at the Corte Madera Library Thursday at 7 p.m. Families are invited to join Howard Rachelson, Marin’s “Master of Trivia,” for 90 minutes of family fun in a team trivia competition. Bring your own team of up to eight players, or join a team at the event.
• Every business needs a growth strategy. Learn how to develop one that will work for your company during Thursday's Marin Business Forum. The event is free, but registration is required.
