This Library Says Pump Up The Volume

Around Town April 23-24: The music of the British Invasion takes over the Larkspur Library tonight.

It's a brand new week, which means more brand new opportunities to get out there and be part of your community. Here are a few things on the calendar around the Twin Cities this week. Check our Events and Announcements listings for more ideas.

• Richie Unterberger will return with “The British Invasion – Part 3” as part of the Larkspur Library Music History Series on Monday, from 6:30-9 p.m. at the library. This presentation carries the British rock musicians into the early 1970’s, featuring The Rolling Stones, The Who, David Bowie and many others. Unterberger will present two hours of rare clips of British rock performers from the early-to-mid-1970s. Most of the material is unavailable on commercial video, and even the clips that are in commercial circulation are rather off the beaten track.

• The Corte Madera Planning Commission meets Tuesday, April 24. Check the Town's website for the agenda.

• Children ages birth through 30 months and their caregivers are invited to join together for a half-hour storytime just right for the youngest patrons. Baby Bounce is a lively mix of songs, nursery rhymes, fingerplays and very short books. Baby Bounce is held regularly on Tuesdays, 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the Larkspur Library.
