Walking For A Cure

The Twin Cities are decked out in pink for the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer on Saturday.

The dozens of pink tents at Corte Madera's Town Park on Saturday represented the army of volunteers and walkers who joined the battle against breast cancer.

The Avon Walk for Breast Cancer included routes through Mill Valley, Corte Madera and Larkspur. The pink-clad walkers cheered as motorists honked in support. All day, pink motorcycles, the "Hookers for Hooters" van, cyclists and others made sure the walkers knew they had the community's encouragement.

The crowd at the finish line at Wellness Village in Town Park erupted into a boisterous roar as walkers crossed through the pink arch. Music and dancing added to the party-like atmosphere.
