Water District Announces Partnership "To Help Customers Save Water and Money"

As part of a pilot program, 5,000 residential water customers will begin receiving WaterSmart’s Print and Email Home Water Reports in the coming weeks.

The following is a news release from the Marin Municipal Water District:

The Marin Municipal Water District Wednesday announced a new pilot partnership with WaterSmart Software, the leading behavioral water efficiency platform that helps water utilities engage customers, improve operational efficiency, and save money.  Marin is the latest drinking water provider to adopt the company’s software-as-a-service customer engagement solution.

“MMWD prides itself on being a leader in conservation and for providing exemplary service to our residents,” said MMWD Board President Armando Quintero. “We’re excited to participate in a pilot program with WaterSmart to help our customers improve their water-use efficiency and save money. WaterSmart’s platform will help our customers better understand how they are using water, which is the first step in reducing water use.”

As part of the pilot program, 5,000 residential water customers will begin receiving WaterSmart’s Print and Email Home Water Reports in the coming weeks.  They will also gain free access to WaterSmart’s online customer portal. The Home Water Reports and online portal will provide personalized information about residents’ household water use and how it compares to similar households. They will also receive customized water-saving recommendations and up-to-date water news from MMWD.

"WaterSmart is delighted to bring our behavioral water efficiency technology to MMWD’s customers,” said Peter Yolles, CEO of WaterSmart. “Independent reports verify that people save more when they know how their water use compares with their neighbors. WaterSmart is at the forefront of using behavioral water efficiency tools to help forward thinking water agencies like MMWD engage customers to save money and water.”

These reports, like the ones I get from PG AND E are totally worthless, as they are comparing my 6 person household to my empty nest neighbors..

If they want to provide "exemplary service" to their Residents, perhaps they will open up one if their precious reservoirs to non motorized watercraft? How about opening up the "seasonal salmon viewing parking lot" at Kent Lake Dam year round so families wont have to walk with their children along a road full of speeding vehicles. You selfish s.o.b's have posted no parking in all the places we used to park. Not very "forward thinking" of you. I have written about this for years and you have done nothing. Blood will be on your hands, I'm afraid.
