Water District Serves Tap As Drink Of Choice

Around Town June 6-7: Marin Municipal Water District Board to meet Wednesday.

The Marin Municipal Water District Board is expected to award several contracts for various jobs during its regular meeting Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

Also on the agenda is a resolution to advocate tap water as "the drink of choice" and updates on bond sales and a report on water production and storage.

The meeting will be held in the board room at 220 Nellen Ave. in Corte Madera.

Keenan's four-week class at Book Passage in Corte Madera begins Wednesday, 6:30-8:30 p.m. The fee is $155. Keenan has worked on over 80 published books. • There's still time to get a good deal on strawberries by the bunch. I've seen boxes of the red gems for $12 at the Corte Madera farmers market in the Town Center. The market sets up every Wednesday, from noon to 5 p.m.

• Planning a summer trip to the mountains? You might want to stop by REI in the Town Center before going on your next trip. REI is hosting a "backpacking basics" class Wednesday, from 7-8:30 p.m. The class will cover backpacking essentials: choosing a pack; selecting proper clothing & footwear; and understanding the basics you need to reach your destination.
