The Marin Municipal Water District Board is expected to award several contracts for various jobs during its regular meeting Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
Also on the agenda is a resolution to advocate tap water as "the drink of choice" and updates on bond sales and a report on water production and storage.
The meeting will be held in the board room at 220 Nellen Ave. in Corte Madera.
Here are a few other events in the Twin Cities:
• Have you always wanted to write but weren’t sure where to begin? Be inspired by Leslie Keenan's 28 years of experience in helping people uncover and release their ideas. Keenan's four-week class at Book Passage in Corte Madera begins Wednesday, 6:30-8:30 p.m. The fee is $155. Keenan has worked on over 80 published books. She knows what it takes to get a book from the first glimmer of an idea into its published form.
• There's still time to get a good deal on strawberries by the bunch. I've seen boxes of the red gems for $12 at the Corte Madera farmers market in the Town Center. The market sets up every Wednesday, from noon to 5 p.m.
• Planning a summer trip to the mountains? You might want to stop by REI in the Town Center before going on your next trip. REI is hosting a "backpacking basics" class Wednesday, from 7-8:30 p.m. The class will cover backpacking essentials: choosing a pack; selecting proper clothing & footwear; and understanding the basics you need to reach your destination.
