What's Really Happening At The Lake?

Find out what the birds, bees and insects are up to with a nature hike around Phoenix Lake.

Explore our oak woodlands with our special guests, an insect expert, a bird enthusiast and a certified arborist.

Meet by 10 a.m. to join the hike from Phoenix Lake Dam to the Log Cabin. During the walk hikers will search for various birds, caterpillars and oaks and discuss the interconnections found in this food web. Once you arrive at the Log Cabin you will look at specimens under a microscope, watch birds through binoculars and create your very own caterpillar kit!

Families are encouraged to attend. Meeting location is Phoenix Lake Dam. Arrive before 10 a.m. and the gate at Natalie Coffin Greene Park will be open to allow volunteers to park next to the dam.
