Around Town Jan. 18-19: Learn about some of the masters of the Renaissance during Wednesday's lecture at the Corte Madera Library.

 

• Docent Rita Dunlay will give an illustrated talk on the de Young Museum's exhibition, "Masters of Venice: Renaissance Painters of Passion and Power," on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Corte Madera Library. The exhibit continues until Feb. 12.

• What happens when two award-winning funnymen combine their talents? We get Lunatics, the new book by Pulitzer Prize winner Dave Barry and Thurber Prize winner Alan Zweibel from Saturday Night Live. The two will visit Book Passage in Corte Madera on Wednesday at 1 p.m. The $45 ticket for the event includes lunch and a signed copy of the book. Call 927-0960, ext. 1 to reserve your spot.

• Opera buffs in Larkspur don't have to go any further than downtown. The Lark Theater is showing an encore presentation of Faust on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

• In case you haven't seen it yet, seriously, don't miss the Matt Damon family flick We Bought A Zoo. It deftly dances between the extremes of sweetness and depression for a touching story, based on true events. The film is playing through Thursday at the Lark Theater.
