HOOKED on MARIN - September 2012

Hooked on Marin is a community-based partnership comprised of Marin county public service agencies and educational districts collaborating to foster social, educational, and cultural enrichment opportunities in Marin. These organizations have combined forces to provide a series of three moderator-led events focused on topics and issues that have roots in Marin County. Each event will feature a panel of local experts who, with the help of Moderator Terry McGovern, will tell their part of the story.

On September 20, 2012, HOOKED o MARIN is proud to present "The Organic Food Movement in Marin". Speakers include

Wendy Johnson lived and trained at Green Gulch Farm from 1975-2000. She is one of the founders of the Organic Farm and Garden Program at Green Gulch, a lay dharma teacher, and the author of Gardening at the Dragon’s Gate (Bantam, 2008). Wendy is a garden mentor to the Edible Schoolyard program and a College of Marin instructor in the Environmental Landscape program at the Indian Valley Organic Farm and Garden project.

Mark is one of the original proponents and authors of Measure B, the Marin County initiative that prohibited the outdoor cultivation of Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs), which passed by 61% in 2004. Al was involved in the very successful move and expansion of the store in 1999-2000 to its current location on Sir Francis Drake Blvd.
