Larkspur Library Event: Armchair Travel, Discover Enchanting Slovenia

Join us for a travel presentation on Slovenia by Zoya Pinto, a native of this little known and beautifully scenic part of Europe.

Slovenia seceded from former Yugoslavia and became independent in 1991. Influences from Roman Empire, Venice Republic and Austro-Hungarian Empire left their marks on Slovenia.

Zoya will introduce you to Ljubljana (the vibrant political and cultural capital of Slovenia), Ptuj (a town dating back to the Stone Age), and the year-round resorts of Bled and Bohinj lakes. Traditional festivals and some products of this country will be highlighted. Zoya will also feature the dramatic Julian Alps, the mysterious caves of Postojna, the charming seaside resorts of Piran, Bernardin and Portoroz.

The presentation is part of the Larkspur Library’s Armchair Lectures Series coordinated by Dimensions in Travel. This talk is a lively, friendly opportunity to have your questions answered and gain insight about Slovenia.
