Listen to The Oracle At The Library

Around Town Feb. 8-9: Michael David Lukas' red-hot novel is making the book group rounds as part of One Book, One Marin.

 

• Both the Larkspur and Corte Madera libraries will host free discussions of Michael David Lukas' novel The Oracle of Stamboul this week. The Larkspur Library is holding its meeting Wednesday, Feb. 8, at 7 p.m. Can't make that one? Drop by the Corte Madera Library at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9.

• Getting frustrated with your job hunt? The Tamalpais Union High School District's Adult and Community Education program is here to help with "Maximizing Your Job Search." The second part of the two-part seminar will be held Thursday, Feb. 9, from 6-8 p.m. The seminar will be in Room 153 at Redwood High School. The program will include job search strategies, interviews techniques and tips for negotiating salary and benefits. There also will be a resume critique. The Larkspur Walkers welcome you to join them on walks that start and finish at Piper Park. The group walks approximately 3 miles within an hour, and routes include some hills and easements staircases as well as level ground.  Meet at the east end of the parking lot, near the picnic area. Arrive 5 minutes early for easy warm-up exercises before the walk. If you would like to join the Larkspur Walkers, contact the Larkspur Recreation Department or come directly to Piper Park and ask for Nancy Spivey, leader of the group.

• Do you love the fact that your child is interested in playing music, but you're having a hard time listening to the same old song over and over again during practice and recitals? Well, here's your chance to get even with the Parent Ukulele Class at Hall Middle School on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m.
