Pointer Sisters Are Still Excited

Legendary Oakland trio highlights the concert schedule Sunday night at the Marin County Fair.

The Pointer Sisters are back in their beloved Bay Area to play the Marin County Fair on Sunday night.

The Pointer Sisters, Ruth, Anita and June, grew up in Oakland and sang at the West Oakland Church of God, where their father was the minister. The Pointer Sisters have played big stages around the country, but coming home to the Bay Area has always been special for the '80s icons.

The Pointer Sisters topped the charts with He's So Shy, Slow Hand, Jump, I'm So Excited and Neutron Dance, songs which are still heard on the radio today.

Ruth and Anita continue touring around the world with Ruth's granddaughter, Sadako.

Information about all the free concerts, attractions and shows at the Marin County Fair can be found on marinfair.org.
