The Larkspur Youth Film Festival will spotlight some amazing local talent on Sunday, April 29. The festival starts at 11:30 a.m., so come on out and help us support the locals.
Among the local film makers is a Mill Valley quartet, who produced the documentary Mother Goose.
Following is a Q&A with Julian, Sam, Madé and Daniela:

Mother Goose (Documentary)
• What's the film about?
A documentary short on Sigrid Boehm, a domestic geese keeper. She is extremely passionate about these geese but runs into issues with the community. This film explores the rights of a community verses those of an individual.
• How did you hear about the festival?
We heard about the festival through the newspaper.
• How did the idea for the film come about?
Our previous ideas had fallen through and we running out of time. With about two weeks left, we frantically searched for any new ideas. We found out about Sigrid in a newspaper article from the Marin IJ.
• What were the challenges of making the film?
Time was a very challenging factor and it was sometimes hard to get interviews. Our first interview had to be postponed because of a goose emergency. We also had to search for the woman who was against Sigrid’s geese because her name wasn’t disclosed to us.
• What's the best part of being a film maker?
It was great to get to know our subjects personally and exploring these topics that we didn’t really know existed. It is also always great to watch how the audience reacts to your film after putting in so much effort.
• Would you like to pursue a career in movies? In what area?
Julian: Yes, film production.
