5 Great Eats

Here area few ideas to help you get out and have some fun and good food this weekend.

FUN UNDER THE REDWOODS
The Tavern at Lark Creek continues its Biergarten in The Grove series on Sunday, with traditional German fare and entertainment. The fun continues Monday night with the new weekly Ballroom & Dining Room series. Learn the foxtrot, then settle in for a three-course prix fixe dinner by chef Aaron Wright. Classes start at 6 p.m., with dinner at 7 p.m. $40 includes dance lessons. Space is limited.

FOOD AND MUSIC
Enjoy a cup of coffee and a snack Sunday while listening to the jazz sounds of Lili Layton & Friends at the Corte Madera Town Center clock tower, 2-4 p.m.

REDWOOD ROCKS
Redwood High School’s student musicians will be performing at two local restaurants on Friday, Sept. 16, 6-10 p.m., to benefit the Redwood High School Foundation. The event, called “Redwood Rocks Fall Dine-Around," will be held at Max’s Café (60 Madera Blvd. in Corte Madera) and Wipe-Out Grill (302 Bon Air Center in Greenbrae).

Both restaurants will donate a portion of their dining proceeds from the evening to the Redwood High School Foundation. In addition, Wipe-out Grill is donating a percentage for the entire day, beginning with lunch at 11 a.m.

The event is intended to kick off the Redwood High School Foundation’s Annual Giving Campaign. “Redwood Rocks” will also showcase the wide variety of musical talent at Redwood, which is supported by the Foundation’s fundraising. It follows the Redwood football and girls volleyball home games.

CALLING ALL PIEMAKERS!
Bring your best pie to the big farmers market tent by 10 a.m. on Saturday at Marin Country Mart. Pie entries should be prepared in a disposable 9" pie tin. The title of your pie, your name, phone number, and pie recipe needs to accompany your entry. Pies will be judged on taste, presentation, and flakiness of crust. Fantastic prizes will be given to the winning pies.

PEANUT BUTTER DRIVE
Each year, The Cheesecake Factory partners with Feeding America to provide relief to children and adults in need through a network of local Food Banks. All Cheesecake Factory restaurants  and staff participate in a nationwide Peanut Butter Drive throughout the month of September.  The Village’s Cheesecake Factory won last year’s drive with the largest donation, and they’d love to do it again! If you’d like to help, please drop off your jar(s) of peanut butter at the restaurant any time through the month of September.
