Larkspur City Council is scheduled to consider the process for appointing a successor to retired councilwoman Joan Lundstrom.

Well, it's too late to get on the ballot for the Nov. 8 election for the Larkspur City Council, but there might be another way to join the council. The City Council will appoint a successor to fill retired Joan Lundstrom's seat.

Applications are being prepared for the appointment process. Kathy Hartzell asked Larkspur City Manager Dan Schwarz to include input from the City Council in creating the applications, one ofthe topics on the agenda for the Wednesday, 7:30 p.m., meeting.

There are four candidates for City Council on the ballot, although one dropped out of the race. Mayor Larry Chu, Brad Marsh and Ann Morrison are battling for the two open seats on the ballot. It's likely the candidate who is not voted into office will be appointed to fill Lundstrom's seat, unless a strong challenger emerges during the interview process.

The City Council will also turn its focus Wednesday onto the 2000 Larkspur Landing Circle property by appointing an ad hoc committee to consider the development of the property.
