EO Honored As Top Small Business

Assemblyman Jared Huffman hails the Corte Madera-based personal care product manufacturer as the 'Small Business of the Year.'

EO Products, a longtime Corte Madera manufacturer of personal care products, is being lauded as a prime example of small business success.

Assemblymember Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael) recognized EO Products of Marin County as the “Small Business of the Year” for the 6th Assembly District at a ceremony today at the Sacramento Convention Center.

Each year, the California Assembly recognizes the contributions of small businesses in each Assembly district and their important role in the creation of jobs and growth for the California economy.

“One of California’s competitive advantages is the growth of green companies like EO Products that are dedicated to environmentally responsible business practices,” Huffman said. “These small businesses are vital to California’s economic growth, providing quality jobs for skilled workers, and stimulating growth in other sectors of the economy. I am proud to honor EO Products as the Small Business of the Year in my district.”

Currently based in Corte Madera, EO Products is a family-owned and operated manufacturer of personal care products, using the highest-grade natural and certified-organic ingredients. EO creates products that are natural, gentle, effective and free from animal testing.

“We know that providing a product with integrity and sustainability is a choice and we make this choice consciously to ensure that only the finest products are created,” said Susan Griffin-Black, who, in partnership with Brad Black, is EO’s co-founder and co-CEO.

In May, EO Products announced its decision to remain in Marin County after a prolonged search for a larger, certified-organic manufacturing facility. After considering sites both inside and outside the region, the company chose to remain in Marin County by selecting the former Industrial Light & Magic building in San Rafael as the perfect fit for its relocation.

“We’re pumped to be a part of the unique character and history of this location, and we’re looking forward to becoming involved in our new neighborhood in San Rafael,” said Brad Black. “With the priceless support of Assemblyman Jared Huffman and the City of San Rafael, we were able to make it work.”

Assemblymember Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael) represents the 6th Assembly District, which encompasses southern Sonoma County and all of Marin County.
