Food Fight!

Gastronomic fans are fighting for space in line as the weekly Food Truck Crush opens at Larkspur Landing.

The trucks rolled in around 4 p.m. and the hungry masses rolled in soon after as the Food Truck Crush kicked off with five-star reviews at the Larkspur Landing ferry terminal Friday.

Between the curious, the busy commuters and excited baseball fans, the business was brisk for the mobile restraunteers. Sift, the winner of Food Network's Cupcake Wars, satisfied the crowd's sweet tooth with its chocolate-loaded Sky is Falling and decadent Car Bomb creations. Pizza, pulled pork sandwiches and wraps were also on the menu.

Drake High School grad Dallas Winston just called it "darn good food" after his first taste of food truck fare.

Giants and A's fans lined up to catch the ferry to AT&T Park for the Bay Bridge Series, chomping on pizza slices and ribs as they waited for their ride. The weekly Crush shares 10 Fridays with the ballpark ferry.

Officials are considering inviting more trucks to the party in weeks to come.

"I hope they have more vendors, I hope to see more variety," said James, who came to the Crush after hearing about it earlier in the week.
