Marin Realtors Endorse Council Candidates

Larkspur candidate Brad Marsh and Corte Madera incumbent Bob Ravasio receive support ahead ahead of the Nov. 8 election.

Brad Marsh picked up an influential endorsement this week for his campaign for Larkspur City Council.

The Marin Association of Realtors announced it has endorsed Marsh, as well as incumbent Bob Ravasio, a candidate for the Corte Madera Town Council, in the November elections.

Marsh is one of three candidates for two city council seats. He will attend Tuesday's Night with the Candidates, along with Mayor Larry Chu and Ann Morrison. The event, sponsored by the Larkspur Chamber of Commerce, will be held at the Hall Middle School gym at 7:30 p.m.

“Ravasio and Marsh support our positions on the key issues that are important to both the public and Marin’s organized real estate community,” wrote MAR President Mary Kay Yamamoto in a press release.

“Realtors are active and involved in their towns and cities, so it is no surprise that many of our concerns overlap with the issues that affect communities across Marin. These issues include our support for mandatory full disclosure by local governments about their meeting agendas and easy online access to that information,  implementation of ten-year action plans to help address urgent sewer lateral problems and enforcement of a moratorium on laws and fees that are harmful to housing markets,” she said.

Marsh has been endorsed by former Larkspur City councilwoman Joan Lundstrom and councilwoman Kathy Hartzell, who is not seeking re-election in November. Lundstrom's seat will be filled by an appointee after the election.

Ravasio is also endorsed by the Twin Cities Police Authority and recommended by the Marin Women's Political Action Committee. He is challenging Mayor Alexandra Cock and former Corte Madera councilwoman Melissa Gill for the two seats on the ballot.

MAR also endorsed four candidates in the countywide election for the Marin Community College District Board of Directors. They are challengers Philip Kranenburg and Jack Wilkinson and incumbents Joan Lisetor and Eva Long.

“Given the important role the college plays in our community, we are confident the institution will be in good hands with these individuals on their leadership team,” Yamamoto said.
