Trick Or Treat Comes Early In Greebrae!

Bon Air Shopping Center hosts a super fun Halloween Bash

It felt like a summer day at the 26th Annual Halloween Bash at Bon Air Shopping Center in Greenbrae.  Hundreds of children were dressed in costume to participate in all the fun activities. They gathered treats from the participating businesses, stood in line for face painting and balloon sculptures, got their picture taken and put on a magnet or button, and played many of the carnival games available.

Diana Jan, the Marketing Director for the Bon Air Center, told me, "This is an annual tradition... We want our families and our community and their children to come on down and enjoy the day... We have lots of activities..."

Jan continued, "We have carnival booths manned by local community organizations and they will get a donation for their participation...and we have trick or treat with candy from all our stores...we have a pet parade and costume contest...there is a small donation to participate and all that money will go to the Milo Foundation... And when you bring two cans of food for our food drive which benefits the Marin Food Bank you will get a trick or treat bag and a balloon."

Kids were dressed as fairies, angels, brides, witches, princesses, firemen, police officers, and more.  There was even a Thomas The Train, Buz Lightyear and and a tiny dog wearing angel wings. And many of the adults were decked out in costumes and enjoying the festivities.

Caitlyn, 5, said her favorite part of Halloween was "candy!" Her 7 year old brother, Jake, added, "I like the costumes..." They both proudly displayed all the candy they collected from the stores and the prizes won from the carnival booths.

It was another fun local community event enjoyed by kids and adults alike. If you missed this year's Bon Air Shopping Center Halloween Bash be sure to put it on your calendar for next year!

Until next time, remember it's all "for the love of kids..."

In joy, Marilyn
