Twin Cities Have Talent

The Village is hosting an open call and a fashion show to find models and maybe the next big star in Larkspur and Corte Madera.

Is your life like one long episode of Glee?

Teens, show off your star power Saturday at The Village during an open call with Stars Model Management. The call is from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Stars is looking for boys and girls ages 13–21. The agency's models have appeared on the E! reality television series Scouted.

"We're looking for new kids to be featured on the TV show and to be signed and hired for ads," said Stars' Kristen Kotik.

Some of Stars' models have recently appeared in Marin Magazine and other publications.

Anyone interested should come dressed "as a normal kid." One tip: the scouts will likely be looking for someone between 5-foot-7 and 5-foot-11.

"The kids will be meeting some of the agents from the agency," Kotik said. "They'll give an honest evaluation. This is a chance for the kids to get their foot in the door."

Stars and The Village will team up again Sept. 6 with Fashion's Night Out, sponsored by the Microsoft Store.

Models, some picked from Saturday's open call, "will be styled head-to-toe showcasing the latest fall fashions from The Village's retailers styled by Urban Darling stylists Natasha Thomas and Fanny Woo." RSVP with The Village Concierge if you would like to attend this Fashion Show event. A $20 per person donation to Image for Success will be accepted at the door on the day of the event.

"I live in Marin and so do the owners of Stars, so this made sense (to work with The Village," Kotik said.
