5 Refreshing Summertime Wines

Here are a few of my favorite white wines perfect for summertime sipping.

Our weather is supposed to warm by Friday, with temperatures reaching the low 80's over the weekend. Here are a few of my favorite summertime sippers (in order from least expensive to most expensive) that will help you keep cool:

2011 Alamos Torrontés: An aromatic white wine from Argentina with melon and peach flavors, bright acidity, and clean finish. At Trader Joe's for only $8.99!

2011 Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc-Viognier: Racy acidity with zesty citrus flavors and good minerality. Very easy to drink. At Trader Joe's for $10.99.

2011 Nadia Sauvignon Blanc: This wine has flavors of guava, grapefruit, and lime and a creamy finish. Order from the Laetitia website for $18.

2011 Hanna Sauvignon Blanc: Light and crisp, with orange blossom and lime notes. $18 or less at Safeway and Costco.

2011 Foxen "Steel-Cut" Chardonnay: This light-bodied Chardonnay is unoaked with fresh, pure tropical fruit flavors. Order from the Foxen website, $32.

Full reviews of these wines can be found on my website Sip Swirl Savor. I am also on Facebook. Please like my page for wine news, blog posts, and local restaurant reviews. Cheers!

Prop 37 would have exempted "organic" food from the labeling requirement. What sense doesRead More that make? (Answer: none.)
