Enjoy a drink with author and brewer Jeremy Cowan at Book Passage in Corte Madera on Friday at 7 p.m. Cowan, author of Craft Beer Bar Mitzvah, shares his brewing tips and the tale of "How It Took 13 Years, Extreme Jewish Brewing & Circus Sideshow Freaks to Make Shmaltz Brewing Co an International Success."
• The Marin Municipal Water District Board of Directors will meet at 7:30 p.m. Thursday to consider increasing water rates by 6.5 percent, beginning May 1. The board will meet at the district office, 220 Nellen Ave. in Corte Madera.
