Barnes & Noble Corte Madera to Host Author Events with Karen Lynch & Jonathan R. Husband

Barnes & Noble Corte Madera will host author Karen Lynch who will share from her bookGood Cop, Bad Daughter: Memoirs of an Unlikely Police Officer at a speaking engagement on Saturday, July 12, at 6pm. Ms. Lynch will be joined by author Jonathan R. Husband (An Unplanned Encounter: Two Lives Forever Changedfor an informal Meet & Greet, 3-6pm.  Mr. Husband will be available to sign copies of his book and speak with customers in anticipation of a speaking engagement at Barnes & Noble Corte Madera in August.

“Good Cop, Bad Daughter is an often humorous, poignant adventure story of Karen's journey from pot-smoking Cal student, to Renaissance bar serving wench, to street cop. Recounting the story of the first women cops, she reflects on life with her bi-polar mother, and comes to realize her chaotic past unwittingly provided the perfect foundation for her chosen career.

Karen Lynch is a native San Franciscan. After graduating from UC Berkeley, she joined the San Francisco Police Department in 1981. She lives in Novato with her husband and their three children, including Kyra, who was the subject of an essay that won the 2012 Notes & Words national essay contest. Biography provided by Karen Lynch.

“An Unplanned Encounter, Two lives Forever Changed is the first novel written by Jonathan R. Husband (aka John Cammidge). The author was born in York England and moved to California in mid-1979 where he has become a US citizen. He wrote this novel during late 2013 after the surprise discovery of how he had come to be born during World War II in Yorkshire, England, and the unusual lives lived by his mother and father.

While the novel is historical fiction, it is based on an unforgettable and heart rending set of true events experienced by his mother and father. He attended Nunthorpe Grammar School in York, and Hull University, Yorkshire. He currently lives in Marin County and has two children, both married, and four grandchildren. He retired after a career in Human Resources with Ford Motor, Bank of America, Stanford University and the University of California.” Biography provided by Jonathan R. Husband.
