Thank you, Educators, for all you do! We will be hosting a special Educator Breakfast for Homeschool and PreK-grade 12 educators on Saturday, January 11th, at 9am. In addition to showcasing the great programs that are available to help you, your students, and your school, we’ll be presenting the My Favorite Teacher Contest. Breakfast attendees should please RSVP with their name and school by Friday, January 10th, at 4pm to crm2274@bn.com.
This event is part of Barnes & Noble Corte Madera’s annual spring Educator Appreciation Days, January 11-19, 2014. Educators who shop at Barnes & Noble during Educator Appreciation Days will receive:
- A 25% discount on personal and classroom purchases;
- Special 25% discount applies to CDs, DVDs and electronics!
- A chance to win either a NOOK Tablet or a $500 Barnes & Noble gift card (one educator per region); and
- Huge discounts on products marked down for post-holiday clearance.
“Educators were so excited about the first-ever 25% discount on music, movies and electronics items at our December Educator Holiday Shopping Event that we decided to offer this special discount again at January Educator Appreciation Days,” said Sarah DiFrancesco, Vice President of Business Development for Barnes & Noble. “The discount applies to classroom and personal purchases, so we know a lot of teachers appreciated being able to purchase movies, headphones and music to augment classroom learning -- and also find something fun for themselves.”

Participants will also learn about the 2014 My Favorite Teacher Contest at their January Educator events. The contest provides middle and high school students the opportunity to tell their communities how much they appreciate their teachers by writing an essay, poem or letter about them.
Stores honor their local winner at a spring event in their store. Each local winner is entered into the regional contest, where five winners receive a NOOK® and a $500 Barnes & Noble gift card. From the pool of regional winners, Barnes & Noble will name one teacher the Barnes & Noble National Teacher of the Year. The winning teacher will receive $5,000 and the title of “Barnes & Noble Teacher of the Year.” Barnes & Noble also donates $5,000 to the winning teacher’s school.
