Alert Marin Day - Kick off for Marin's New Emergency Notification System

If you live, work or go to school in Marin County and are 18 and over, starting January 26th you can now register your cell phone and VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone number on the secure self-registration portal, www.alertmarin.org, to receive emergency alerts by text, voice and email. You may register multiple geographic locations for notification, such as home, work, children’s school, or a parent’s home. Each geographic address requires a unique registration and unique email address.


On Alert Marin Day, Saturday, January 26th, 11 – 3 PM Volunteers will be located throughout Marin County handing out informational fliers and answering questions from 11 – 3 pm at the Northgate Mall, The Village at Corte Madera, Marin Gateway Shopping Center, The Town Center Corte Madera, Vintage Oaks at Novato, Good Earth Market, Canal Alliance, Whole Foods Markets, Pickleweed Community Center, Bon Air Shopping Center, Marin Country Mart and Safeway Stores.


For those without a computer or smart phone, free computers are available to register cell phones at any county or city library along with the following partner locations on Alert Marin Day: Canal Alliance, 91 Larkspur Street, San Rafael, Town Center Community Room, 770 Tamalpais Drive, Suite 201, Corte Madera, and the Tiburon Police Station, 1155 Tiburon Blvd, Tiburon
