MARINOVATORS MAKER Day

                           MARINOVATORS MAKER Day

The MAKER Movement is coming to a school near you! Find out what it’s all about!  Come have fun and learn at MAKER Day on Saturday, April 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Marin County Office of Education.  This is a free event and everyone is welcome.

Over the last several years interest in the grass roots MAKER Movement has grown dramatically. MAKER Faires around the world are drawing hundreds of thousands of people. Now MAKER is beginning to be spill into schools and be woven into the curriculum by innovative creative teachers seeking to provide authentic learning experiences.  Students are engaged and working together to solve problems. Hands-on project based learning exercises utilize many of the characteristics recognized in the Common Core State Standards as key to student success today and in the future. MAKER activities provide students with the opportunity to collaborate, communicate, create, innovate, critique and problem solve.

The Marin County Office of Education and partners Autodesk, Microsoft, Edutopia, Intel Clubhouse, Marin County Bicycle Coalition, Lego Play-Well, Buck Institute for Education, and Bay Area Science Festival are hosting a MAKER Day on April 12 to showcase student MAKER projects.

Come to MAKER Day and experience the excitement, creativity, genius and the “do it yourself” ingenuity of our students and gain a better understanding of how Maker can enhance teaching and learning.   You are invited to celebrate with the curious open minded youth of Marin who tinker, make, create, and code. See how the future is being imagined, programmed, invented, manufactured, and 3D printed by Marin County students.
