The Barnes & Noble store in Corte Madera will host a free Storytime on Saturday, January 18, at 11 a.m. featuring The Snatchabook children’s picture book by Helen and Thomas Docherty. Children ages 3 to 6 and their parents are invited to experience the joy of reading and discovery during this special Storytime.

One dark, dark night in Burrow Down, a rabbit named Eliza Brown found a book and settled down... when a Snatchabook flew into town. It's bedtime in the woods of Burrow Down, and all the animals are ready for their bedtime story. But books are mysteriously disappearing. Eliza Brown decides to stay awake and catch the book thief. It turns out to be a little creature called the Snatchabook, who has no one to read him a bedtime story. All turns out well when the books are returned and the animals take turns reading bedtime stories to the Snatchabook.

In addition to hearing The Snatchabook and other book-themed stories read aloud, children will be invited to experience the Drawing Pad app on NOOK®, along with reading apps such as Word-A-Licious Toddler, First Words Toddler Touch and Say and the adorable Read & Play™ book, How Rocket Learned to Read.

The fun will continue with activities, story writing and an enter-to-win drawing for five free  posters. Booksellers will also invite children and parents to enjoy treats from the Barnes & Noble Café.

“Children will love hearing about the adorable Snatchabook character and his need for someone to read him a bedtime story,” said Sarah DiFrancesco, Vice President of Business Development for Barnes & Noble.  “This Storytime will help children appreciate those who read to them and remind them how special books can be.”

The Snatchabook Storytime event is free and open to the public.  For further details, contact any Barnes & Noble store, or visit the Barnes & Noble Store Locator.
