Before you fire up the bulldozer and tear down that house to make way for your dream chateau, better check the local building ordinances.
There are a couple of changes going into effect in Larkspur:
• Effective June 2 each person who obtains a building permit for a project shall submit a Construction and Demolition Waste (C&D) Diversion Report to the Building Department prior to final inspection of the project, except for those certain projects that may self-certify.
If the Building Official determines that the applicant has not satisfied the diversion requirements of this chapter, the person who has obtained a building permit shall pay an Avoided Disposal Regulatory Fee of 3% of the value of the project, not to exceed $10,000.
• Per Resolution 13/12 building permit fees will increase July 2. Any permits issued after this date will reflect the increase.
