REVIEW OF THE WEEK: Beginners
Starring Ewan McGregor, Christopher Plummer

I missed the chance of catching Beginners at my local theater and in a way I'm glad I did and caught the film on DVD. Beginners is an intimate film, a quiet film, a film that should be seen in the comfort of your home with either a family member, a loved one, a friend or even your pet dog.

Beginners is about a man's beginnings, when one story ends, a new one begins. Ewan McGregor as the main character is a likable guy. We learn about his relationship with his father played by Christopher Plummer in a role that'll probably get him the Best Supporting Actor nomination. One of my favorite performances is played by a dog, you'll see what I mean when you watch the film.

It's not a fast paced film, but it's not a boring one either. It's neither happy nor sad. I recommend it if you want to get away from all the explosions and glowing vampires.
