Local Musician Bill Shore Dies at 47

Corte Madera resident, drummer and graphic designer died in his sleep as a result of an undetected brain tumor. He is survived by his wife and 7-year-old son.

Corte Madera resident William (Bill) Shore Jr., a professional musician and graphic designer who worked with the likes of producer Andy Wallace and Devo's Jerry Casale, died April 19 in his sleep as a result of an undetected brain tumor, according to an obituary in the Marin Independent Journal.

Bill is survived by his wife Jena and 7-year-old son Teige. He was born in San Francisco in 1964 and moved to San Rafael at the age of 5, graduating from Marin Catholic in 1982 and discovering "his life-long love of music at an early age and became an extremely accomplished drummer," according to the obituary.

Most recently, Bill was working on a electro-pop project with Jessica Grace called Well-Adjusted People.

A private funeral will be held on Saturday, April 27 followed by an open Celebration Gathering at 3 p.m. at the San Rafael Elks Lodge at 1312 Mission Avenue. Memorial contributions in Bill's memory may be made to Wells Fargo Bank, college fund for Teige Shore. Account number: 5398211325.
