Friends who knew Pamela Auer remember how she went through life with a feeling of peace and optimism, right up until her death recently at age 67, reported by the Topanga Messenger, which she co-founded.
She had been battling brain cancer for the past three years.
Auer is survived by her husband Steve, daughters Stephanie and Roxane, and 1-year-old grandson Emory.
Auer, who attended Redwood High School from 1959-1962, graduated from UC Berkeley in 1966 with a degree in Sociology.
She pursued a passion for caring for animals and the environment and also a career in film making. She worked on Code Talkers, a documentary about Navajo soliders during World War II who developed a code system.
