101 Crash in Corte Madera Causes Car Fire

The crash on the northbound side, near the Tamalpais exit ramp, was reported at 1:18 p.m., according to the CHP incident log.

A vehicle crashed into a pole and overturned, erupting in flames on Highway 101 in Corte Madera Wednesday, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The Paradise Drive offramp was closed for about an hour, the CHP reported, but the northbound freeway lanes remained open.

Two men were seen running away from the car, which ended up on its side.

A light pole was damaged and crews were called out for repairs, the CHP reported.

The four-door sedan sustained major front-end damage.

You forgot to add that this accident caused a major backup. It was a sea of cars all backed up all the way down to Sausalito. And those of us the all of the Golden Gate Transit buses were delayed an extra 30 to 45 minutes, if not more. Anyone that lives in this area knows that any type of accident will cause a heavy duty back up.
