Action-Packed Day At Larkspur Theater For Firefighters

Car fire interrupts an afternoon at the Century Larkspur Landing theaters.

A carefree afternoon at the movies turned into a drama when a white Jeep caught fire in the parking lot of the Century Larkspur Landing theater at about 2:30 p.m. Sunday.

Twin Cities Police responded first to the scene and managed to control the fire, which started in the engine compartment. Larkspur Fire Department arrived and had to bring out a circular saw to cut a hole in the hood, which was locked, to access the engine and extinguish the fire. The vehicle was determined to be a total loss.

The smell of smoke permeated the movie theaters inside and moviegoers were soon alerted to trouble when theater staff began looking for the vehicle's owner.

No one was injured and there were no other vehicles or structures damaged.

Prop 37 would have exempted "organic" food from the labeling requirement. What sense doesRead More that make? (Answer: none.)
