Twin Cities Police break up fight at Marin Suites; Macaw seized in DUI.

• At the request of the manger of the Marin Suites, 45 Tamal Vista Blvd., Officers responded to a room to evict the renters due to a disturbance. On arrival, Units contacted seven Marin City women, two Berkeley men, a Vallejo woman, a Richmond woman, an Oakland man and a San Leandro man. It was determined that there had been a party and a physical fight had taken place, during which at least one person had been sprayed with pepper spray. The Corte Madera Fire Department responded for treatment of some minor injuries and assistance due to the pepper spray. A report was taken for documentation and all persons were sent on their way. The Oakland Kaiser Hospital Emergency Room later called to advise they had one of the subjects from the altercation at their hospital. However, the subject would not cooperate with TCPD and refused to provide any information.

• A caller reported that a female subject with a macaw, in the area of the Wipeout Bar and Grill in the Bon Air Shopping Center, was very intoxicated and was trying to leave the area in a vehicle. A Larkspur woman was located and arrested for suspicion of Driving While Under the Influence of Alcohol and booked into the Marin County Jail. The Marin Humane Society responded to the scene and took custody of the macaw.

• A Belvedere male juvenile was arrested at Redwood High School for Possession of Marijuana on School Grounds, Possession of Alcohol by a Minor, Possession of Prescription Drugs without a Prescription, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Possession of a Knife on School Grounds. He was issued a citation and released to a parent.

• A Corte Madera juvenile male was issued a citation for Possession of Marijuana on a School Campus at Redwood High School.

• Units responded to a call of a possible auto burglary, in progress, in the area of the 300 block of Via La Cumbre. The caller reported she had seen three male subjects, in dark clothing with hooded sweatshirts, trying to get into a red Toyota. When the alarm on the vehicle went off, the subjects ran and jumped into a white “U-Haul” type box van and fled the area towards San Rafael. Units checked the area and were unable to locate the van. The red Toyota was located in Marin County Sheriff’s jurisdiction with a smashed window and the stereo was missing. MCSO was notified for the report.

• A resident in the 500 block of Old Quarry Road North reported that her vehicle had been broken into sometime during the night via the passenger side window being smashed. The glove box and center console were ransacked. Taken were a purse, an Apple Mac Book laptop computer and an Apple iPad. Loss was estimated at $3700.

• TCPD Units responded to a report of a roll-over accident on E. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. The accident was located east of the Larkspur City Limit, in CHP jurisdiction. Units assisted CHP with traffic control.

• Residents in the 30 block of San Clemente Drive  and 700 block of Meadowsweet Drive reported the theft of the rear license plate from their vehicles.

• Units responded to a report of a physical fight in progress in the parking lot of America’s Best Value Inn, on Casa Buena Drive, between a male and a female. Upon arrival, two males and a female were located in the lot. A Greenbrae man was arrested for Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Violation of Probation. He was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• Units responded to a report of an accident between a vehicle and a bicycle on Paradise Drive in the area of Prince Royal Passage. Units were initially unable to locate the involved parties. The bicyclist was eventually contacted at Redwood High School where he had been transported by the driver of the vehicle that had struck him. A minor-injury accident report was taken and follow-up is pending.

• A resident of the 17 building on Skylark Drive reported that his $38,000 Harley Davidson motorcycle had been stolen from it’s parking stall during the night. A Vehicle Theft report was taken and the motorcycle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System.

• A Ross resident reported the theft of a Dell laptop computer and Blackberry Storm II cell phone from his vehicle while it was parked in the lot of the Mt. Tam Racquet Club. It is unknown if the vehicle was locked. Loss was approximately $2000.

• A resident in the 760 block of Old Quarry Road South reported the theft of his orange Velotechnik Scorpion 21 speed racing tricycle, with orange saddle bags, valued at $4,000. The trike had been chained to a patio fence. A Grand Theft report was taken.

• A resident of the 10 block of Madera del Presidio reported that her husband had grabbed her and refused to let her out of the vehicle. A report for Domestic Battery was taken. Further action is pending with the Marin County District Attorney’s Office.

• A resident in the 700 block of Meadowsweet Drive reported the theft of his rear license plate. A report was taken.

• A resident of the 600 block of Magnolia Ave. reported that someone had vandalized his vehicle by breaking the rear window. Documentation was provided.

• An employee of the Sugar Store called and reported that approximately 45 minutes earlier, a woman, described as a white female adult, approximately 58 to 64 years old and having “frizzy” auburn hair, stole approximately $100 worth of merchandise. Officers checked the area for the subject with negative results.

• A Sausalito resident called and advised that she had located her vehicle, which she had reported to TCPD as stolen approximately one year ago, for sale on Craig’s List. The listing indicated that the vehicle is possibly located in Novato. A meeting was arranged between TCPD Detectives and the “sellers” and the stolen vehicle was recovered in Corte Madera. There is further investigation pending.

• While on patrol, a TCPD Unit located a three vehicle non-injury accident on Sir Francis Drake Blvd. in the area of U.S. 101. Assistance was provided with the exchange of information.

• A resident in the 10 block of Locust Ave. reported that her vehicle had been the victim of a hit-and- run accident during the night. There were no witnesses and there is no suspect vehicle information. Documentation was provided.

• An occupant at the Marin Suites, 45 Tamal Vista Blvd., advised that her vehicle had been the victim of a hit-and-run accident sometime during the night, leaving white paint transfers on her vehicle. There were no witnesses and there is no suspect vehicle information. Documentation was provided.

• An Officer responded for a report of a non-injury accident in the 40 block of Mohawk Ave. Assistance was provided with the exchange of information. One of the vehicles was towed at the owner’s request.

• TCPD Units assisted PG&E and the Corte Madera Fire Dept. with the evacuation of residents and traffic control in the 10 block of Tradewind Passage due to a gas line break.

• After being notified by the Larkspur Fire Department, who was already on scene of what was initially reported as a medical assistance call, TCPD responded to a residence in the 20 block of Edgewater Place for an attempted suicide. The person was transported to the Marin General Hospital Crisis Unit after being medically cleared at the Emergency Room.

During this one week time period, Twin Cities Police had 275 calls for service. This included one accident with minor injuries, three hit-and-run accidents and six property damage only accidents. There was one auto burglary and one commercial burglary. There were two calls related to Driving while Intoxicated, resulting in one arrest.
