Twin Cities Police Log Jan. 18-24: Abercrombie & Fitch reports $14,000 in clothing stolen from its store at The Village.

 

Abercrombie and Fitch, located in the Village Shopping Center, reported the theft of 240 clothing items. The loss is approximately $14,000. A report was taken and there is possible further action pending.

• A resident of the 30 block of Madera Boulevard reported that she has received numerous harassing phone calls telling her that she has won $1.5 million. She feels this is a scam and requested advice. Advice was given and the attempted fraud was documented.

• The San Rafael Police Department reported they had recovered a vehicle reported stolen from the 100 block of Larkspur Plaza Drive on January 14, 2012. The vehicle was not burned, stripped or wrecked and there was no one in custody. The owner was contacted and responded to the scene to take custody of the vehicle. The vehicle was cleared from Stolen Vehicle System.

• Pursuant to a traffic stop in the 900 block of Magnolia Avenue, a Sebastopol woman was arrested for an outstanding warrant held by the East Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office. She was booked at the Marin County Jail.

• An employee of Neil Cummins Elementary School reported graffiti to the wall in the handball court/playground in front of the school and on the black top in the kindergarten area. The graffiti has already been painted over after they took photographs. Documentation was provided for the vandalism.

• A resident of the 10 block of Parkview Circle reported the theft of two packages that UPS delivered, one on January 11, 2012 and the other on January 14, 2012. The approximate loss is $110. Documentation was provided for the theft.

• A resident of the 10 block of Privateer Drive reported collections agencies were trying to collect from her as her identification and Social Security number had been used by an unknown person. An Identity Theft report was taken and there is possible follow-up pending.

• A resident in the 140 block of King Street reported via 9-1-1 that her boyfriend "beat her up," and then hung up. Upon call back, she was very reluctant to give any information about the suspect, or what had occurred. She finally said she had been punched and choked. The involved suspect had left the scene prior to the arrival of police, possibly en route to Oakland. A Domestic Battery report was taken.

• An employee of Gold’s Gym, located at 10 Fifer Ave., reported that a customer had her car broken into while it was parked in the rear lot of the gym. The victim believed the car had been locked. A purse and wallet were taken. An auto burglary report was taken to document the theft. A second auto burglary report was also taken for a vehicle that was broken into in the Gold’s Gym lot.

• A Kentfield resident reported that that someone broke into the vehicle while it was parked in a lot at the Marin Country Mart Shopping Center and a gym bag was stolen. An auto burglary report was taken to document the theft.

• A resident of the 40 block of Mohawk Avenue reported sometime her vehicle was entered and her FastTrak transponder, glasses, a GPS unit and a backpack were taken. The total loss is approximately $500. A report was taken to document the theft.

• A resident in the 20 block of Mohawk Avenue reported his loaner vehicle was entered via unknown means. Taken were his disaster kit and a roadside emergency kit. The loss was estimated at $200. The theft was documented.

• A resident in the 2100 block of Redwood Highway reported her tires were slashed on her vehicle while it was parked in the area of her residence. She believed she may have suspect information. A vandalism report was taken.

• A resident in the 20 block of Buena Vista Avenue reported that someone had stolen his credit card and his wife's jewelry and he believes he has suspect information. A residential burglary report was taken and there is further action pending.

• A resident in the 1500 block of Casa Buena Drive reported his vehicle had been stolen. He reported that he believes the vehicle may have been left unlocked. A vehicle theft report was taken and the vehicle was entered into the Stolen Vehicle System.

• A Kentfield resident reported someone had taken his locked white Cannondale bicycle, valued at approximately $600, from the area of 24 Hour Fitness in the Marin Country Mart Shopping Center. The bicycle has disc brakes and a rack on the back. Documentation was provided for the theft.

• A Larkspur resident who is an employee in the 2500 building at Larkspur Landing Circle reported her vehicle had been vandalized while parked in the lot. Someone had slashed the convertible top on her vehicle, but nothing taken from inside. Documentation was provided for the vandalism.

• A resident of the 300 block of Via Casitas reported a former roommate fraudulently used his Macy's credit card in November of 2011 at the Corte Madera Macy's to make approximately $800 of fraudulent purchases. He also believes the suspect stole a diamond ring which has been missing since November. A theft report was taken for documentation and there may be further action pending.

During this one week time period, Twin Cities Police had 303 calls for service. This included two calls related to accidents with minor injuries, two hit and run accidents and two property damage only accidents. There were four auto burglaries and one residential burglary. There were no calls related to Driving while Intoxicated.
