Disaster Avoided at Hotel Fire Last Night

Disaster was avoided at a Mill Valley hotel last night, after a passing by police officer spotted smoke just outside the building.

Shortly after midnight, MVPD Officer Brooks was patrolling the area of Redwood Highway Frontage Road, when he spotted smoke coming from the rear of the Travelodge hotel at 707 Redwood Highway Frontage Road.

According to police reports, the officer found an active fire to the rear of the south side of the building, and within minutes Mill Valley Fire Department arrived and had the blaze contained.

Hotel guests with rooms near the fire were moved to a different wing of the property, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
